SQL queries, RAM, data visualization, stored procedures, hard drives and optical drives,
triggers and functions, servers, Visual Studio, and Crystal Reports;
if these words mean something to you then you’ll be right at home with the MORryde IT team!
As a part of IT at MORryde, you won’t be hidden in the confines, left only to communicate with your computer and yourself. No, you will be a part of an active IT team! This department works with the end users of our systems, which is pretty much all team members at MORryde. IT is a driving force behind the success of our company and there are many areas of opportunity and focus within this department.
Network Administration
This team can get involved in numerous projects from big to small, including PC set-ups and relocations, updating servers, wiring production areas for greater technology access, and managing the IT infrastructure for new campus buildings. And on top of all that, they are our behind-the-scenes security guards, keeping our systems and data safe.
Software Development
Is writing code your way of unwinding and relaxing? Are you a natural problem solver who likes to figure things out and make them work? MORryde’s Software Developers are tasked with a wide variety of projects. From simple report updates to rolling out custom application creations that utilize the latest technology, they are the gurus behind transforming our data so we can track information, find trends, and make important business decisions. This team is also heavily involved with creating solutions that our manufacturing teams can use to improve their day-to-day processes. Regardless of the request, this team can figure out what software, code, or query is needed.
Tableau Reporting
Our Tableau team works directly with Software Developers to pull data from the system. They then take that data and make it come to life in a visual image, which makes understanding that data straightforward and easier to take in. This team allows us to see information in real time and users can make quick filter changes to dial in and see the info that’s most important to them. But we wouldn’t be able to see those stats so easily if it wasn’t for the Tableau team at MORryde.
Project Management
Ever wonder how new IT processes get rolled out successfully? That’s a tall task for our Project Management team, but they don’t disappoint! All those great (and maybe sometimes not so great) ideas users have for IT to work on begin with the Project Management side of IT. They assess user requests, point them in the right direction if there is already something in place that fulfills their request, or, if the project is feasible, they work with users to gain an understanding of project goals, timelines, and expectations. They then take this information to others on our IT team. In essence, the Project Management group blocks (and maybe tackles at times) for others within IT, allowing those individuals to focus on their area of expertise, opposed to being tied up in meetings all day.
The success of our IT Department doesn’t fall on one area of focus or one individual. It’s truly a team effort, where collaboration is important. They also depend highly on users for input and testing, to ensure projects and processes they roll out fulfill the needs of our users, which at the end of the day are the customers our IT team serves.
