PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT

MORryde is looking for a professional with the right combination of skills to fill a Payroll Accountant opportunity in our fast-paced Employee Services (HR) Department.

In this role you will be tasked with processing payroll for nearly 700 team members, weekly. You will see the process through from start to finish, which includes, but is not limited to, timecard management, reporting, system entries, and auditing. You will also have the ability to learn the ins and outs of our production efficiency and incentive plans.

We are seeking an individual who loves all things numbers, working in excel, and doesn’t shy away from problem solving. An inquisitive person who seeks to understand how and why things work will find great success in this role.

Although this is a numbers focused role, it’s equally important to have a positive customer service mindset. Our goal is always to provide the best service, whether that is when we are relaying information on an individual level or rolling out a companywide initiative, we always want our service skills to shine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Timely and accurate preparation and processing of weekly payroll for approximately 700 hourly manufacturing and salaried employees.

  • Maintain, update, and audit employee payroll records and files. Including but not limited to new hires, terminations, transfers, and rate change entries.

  • Generate and provide weekly efficiency and incentive reporting for manufacturing leadership.

  • Monitor Paid Time Off Program entries and anniversaries.

  • Complete monthly and quarterly system and employee file audits.

  • Duties also include supporting daily operations of the human resources department, including reporting, HR database management, and special projects. This position has direct hands-on exposure to all aspects of human resources.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Math, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.

  • Passion for all things numbers.

  • Strong computer skills, with a high competency in spreadsheet management and design (Microsoft Excel).

  • Strong ability to audit work and has a keen eye for spotting variances.

  • A logical thinker with the ability to problem solve, brainstorm solutions, and take action.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to be very organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ability to self-manage and prioritize.

  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.

  • Experience with Paylocity or other Human Resources Information System is preferred but not required.

  • A customer focused attitude and the ability to work with a sense of urgency.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential to this position.
